Eric Church’s younger brother has died at age 36, it was confirmed.

“It is with great sadness to confirm that Eric’s brother, Brandon, passed away on Friday evening. In lieu of flowers, we are encouraging everyone to donate to a Scholarship Memorial Fund created on Brandon’s behalf. You can leave a message that will go via email directly to Ken and Rita,” an administrator posted on Eric Church’s official website.

Eric Church, who is 41, is a rising country star.

Brandon co-wrote multiple songs with his brother, including “Without You Here” from the 2009 album “Carolina.”

The Church’s father Kenneth told TMZ that Brandon suffered a seizure at his home in Granite Falls, North Carolina, on Friday and was being rushed to the hospital when he suffered a second seizure, which may have sent him into cardiac arrest.

Kenneth said that Brandon began suffering from seizures in recent years.

A memorial fund in Brandon’s honor has been set up by the family.

“This loving memorial is set up to honor Brandon E. Church, beloved son, brother, father, and friend,” the memorial description stated.

“In lieu of flowers, please pay forward a gift that will keep on giving to others through furthering their education. The Brandon E. Church Memorial Scholarship Fund will be used to bless others and honor a benevolent life. Thank you for showing your love and support to the Church family.”

So far, 114 contributors have contributed $23,580 in total.
