“Mission: Impossible” star, Tom Cruise, is showing no signs of slowing down in his career, despite the film’s franchise coming to a close.

During the New York premiere of “Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning” over the weekend, the 62-year-old said retirement is not on the horizon, hoping to even surpass Harrison Ford’s filmmaking status at the age of 82.

“I’m going to make movies into my 80s,” he told The Hollywood Reporter on May 18 on the red carpet. “I’m going to make them into my 100s.”

For nearly 30 years, Cruise portrayed action hero “Ethan Hunt” in the franchise since its 1996 debut, and reaffirmed how fortunate he is to be able to continue doing what he loves.

“I will never stop,“ he continued. ”I will never stop doing action, I will never stop doing drama, comedy films. I’m excited.”

“There’s been so many levels of reward with the filmmakers that I’ve collaborated with, the crews, the people, the cultures that we’ve worked in,” he said.

“Everything that I’ve learned and continue to learn about storytelling, about life, about leadership, about character, and every aspect of filmmaking. It’s been exceptional.”

The actor is known for performing his own death-defying stunts in the “Mission: Impossible” films and in most of his other productions.
In the latest trailer for “The Final Reckoning,” Cruise hung from an upside-down yellow biplane mid-air and tethered only by a safety rope.

When it comes to preparation, the actor makes sure he is well-suited for the position by staying fit and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

According to Men’s Health, the “Top Gun” star avoids alcohol and sugar-filled snacks while sticking to a strict diet that omits processed foods and carbohydrates.

Specifically, the actor won’t have three main meals a day but rather the same 15 small snacks, in conjunction with hitting the gym bright and early in the morning five days a week.

“There’s a lot of pre-stunt rituals that keep me alive—it depends on what I’m doing and the amount of preparation I have to do,” Cruise said during the premiere.

“A lot of thought goes into it, and they are very complex and very interesting.”

“Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning,” the eighth and final installment of the franchise, is set to hit theaters across the nation on May 23.
