A new chapter in the Superman franchise is on the way. Writer-director James Gunn announced on Wednesday that “Man of Tomorrow,” a continuation of his 2024 Superman film, will premiere in theaters on July 9, 2027.

The reveal came in an Instagram post by Gunn, who currently leads DC Studios with producer Peter Safran. The filmmaker shared artwork by DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee showing Superman standing beside Lex Luthor, who is suited in the character’s recognizable green-and-purple armor.
