Paris Hilton has lashed out at the “cruel and hateful” people who criticized a photo of her 8-month-old son on social media.

Last week, the heiress uploaded on Instagram pictures of motherhood bliss featuring her son to celebrate his first trip to New York City. Her infant boy, dressed in a complete Burberry ensemble, sat on her lap as she proudly posed for a photograph, radiating a megawatt smile.

The “Stars are blind” star captioned the photo: “My precious angel baby Phoenix’s first time in NYC.”

The post, which has raked in over one million likes at the time of writing, garnered negative comments surrounding the size of the baby’s head from some followers.

The hurtful comments targeting her son’s appearance led the TV personality to address the situation.

In a heartfelt note shared on her Instagram story on Monday, the new mom wrote:

“Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable, but targeting my child, or anyone else’s for that matter, is unacceptable.

“This hurts my heart more deeply than words can describe. I’ve worked hard to cultivate an environment that is all about love, respect and acceptance, and I expect the same in return.”

The 42-year-old singer opened up about the dilemma she faced regarding posting about her baby.

On one hand, if she didn’t post, she feared people would doubt her worth as a mother. On the other hand, when she did post, she was met with insensitive comments.

“I’m a proud working mom and my baby is perfectly healthy, adorable and angelic,” she continued.

Ms. Hilton, who stated she had always dreamed of becoming a mother, lovingly referred to her only son as her “world” and “the biggest blessing” in her life.

On top of the cynical comments, the perfume mogul’s post was inundated with an outpouring of supportive messages.

One fan wrote: “I don’t usually comment on these kind of posts but why would anyone slam, shame or make fun of a child? That just says a lot about our society.”

“No one would ever say this to Paris face to face. Behind a keyboard everyone is so bold and mean,” another fumed.

Hilton Welcomed Son Through Surrogate

In January, Ms. Hilton and venture capitalist Carter Reum, 42, welcomed the birth of their first child through surrogacy.

The couple became engaged in February of 2021 following over a year of dating and subsequently exchanged vows during a lavish three-day wedding celebration that took place in November.

The heiress of the Hilton hotel empire later took to Instagram to announce Phoenix’s arrival, sharing a close-up photo of her holding his tiny hand, expressing love in the caption, “You are already loved beyond words 💙.”
In an interview with PEOPLE, the singer said: “It’s always been my dream to be a mother, and I’m so happy that Carter and I found each other. We are so excited to start our family together, and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy.”
