Grammy award-winning artist, Miley Cyrus, reveals she was hospitalized after contracting a “brutal infection” on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

During a May 22 appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the 32-year-old shared she had rolled around the famous Los Angeles landmark while filming a music video for her upcoming album, “Something Beautiful.”

“I filmed this video in October, and by November, on Thanksgiving, I was put in the ICU for a moment,” she said. “Just for a moment, but it was mostly because it was Thanksgiving, there were a lot of people in the ER.”

“I caught something,” she said. “My leg began to disintegrate ... around the kneecap area. And then the doctor goes, ‘Do you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?’'’

It was in that moment that the “Flowers” singer had a lightbulb moment and remembered dancing across the Walk of Fame, something she had to admit to medical professionals.

“I had to tell him, and just to have a surgeon look at you and say ‘yuck’—they open up cadavers, they see inside the guts of humans, and they’re looking at me, telling me I’m disgusting.”

A report by the Stasher luggage company from 2023 rated the Hollywood Walk of Fame as the world’s worst tourist attraction, with a score of 3.42 out of 10. Tourist reviews have described “dirty” and “unsafe” experiences while at the popular tourist destination, according to the report.

The “Something Beautiful” visual album debuts in theaters for one night only on June 12 and will be released internationally on June 27. It will feature 13 original new songs and is described as a “one of a kind pop opera fueled by fantasy.”

Cyrus said she is using the cinematic production to give fans a performance they may not be able to experience in person, due to recent health concerns.

In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music on May 21, the “Wrecking Ball” singer opened up about suffering from Reinke’s edema, a vocal cord condition that often results in polyps and a deep or raspy voice, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

“It’s a part of my unique anatomy,” she said, before explaining how the disorder prevents her from touring as much as she would like.

“[It’s] given me a lot of the tone and texture that has made me who I am, but it’s extremely difficult to perform with because it’s like running a marathon with ankle weights on.”

Cyrus noted she has opted against surgery due to the potential risks, but she is taking other measures, like creating the visual album, to avoid putting additional strain on her vocal cords.
