Macy’s is taking its annual Fourth of July fireworks show to new heights this year in celebration of America’s 250th birthday, which also coincides with the event’s 50th anniversary.
This year’s fireworks spectacular will expand beyond the New York City skyline and will feature a brand new laser show along with star-studded musical performances to mark the holiday celebration.
Artists Post Malone, Blake Shelton, Salt-N-Pepa, Noah Kahan, and Bebe Rexha, are just some of the names announced to the musical roster, bringing together live entertainment with a visual production.

“‘Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks’ delivers the largest Independence Day celebration in the nation through a show-stopping spectacle that reminds us of the power of connection and shared experience,” said Macy’s 4th of July executive producer, Will Coss.

“We’re proud to honor our 50th Fireworks with an expanded show, never-before-seen effects and music’s biggest stars for a truly unforgettable celebration.”

More than 85,000 pyrotechnic shells in 30 different colors will illuminate the night sky 1,000 feet into the air from the lower East River in the Seaport District to the lower Hudson River and Jersey City.

The vibrant display is designed in kaleidoscope patterns and will be accompanied by a performance from season 29 winner of “The Voice,” Alexia Jayy.

“As a brand synonymous with celebration, entertainment, and culture, Macy’s brings generations of customers and communities together through both big and small moments,” said Macy’s chief marketing officer, Sharon Otterman.

“The tradition of Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks creates connection through artistry, music and awe-inspiring displays that turn into lasting memories.”

For the first time, a large-scale laser show will be integrated into the production from the Brooklyn Bridge, adding beams of color and 20,000 different animated light effects onto custom fabricated props.

“We are proud to celebrate our 50th anniversary with a once in a generation experience filled with emotional storytelling and signature spectacle to connect millions of people nationwide,” Otterman said.

The patriotic spectacle is open for public viewing on July 4th and will be nationally televised on NBC or streaming live on Peacock from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. EST.

The retailer is also home to the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, which takes place in the heart of the Big Apple. This November, the beloved traditional event is set to commemorate its 100th edition.

Last year, the parade lineup saw 28 floats and performers, 11 marching bands, 33 clown crews, nine performance groups, four balloonicles, and 14 specialty units.
