Oscar-nominated actress Kirsten Dunst is keeping busy when it comes to her time in front of the camera, but recently recalled a terrifying incident behind the scenes that impacted her family as a whole.
The incident occurred while Dunst was in Budapest filming her upcoming comedy “The Entertainment System Is Down,” which she stars in alongside actor Keanu Reeves.
Plemons and their two sons, Ennis, 7, and James, joined Dunst abroad in January, with the intention of staying in the Hungarian capital during the six-month shoot.
However, their plans took a turn when James got sick and developed an “extremely frightening” health issue, forcing their family back home to Los Angeles to be surrounded by extended family for support.
The actress did not specify the nature of the health issue, but she recalled having to remain in the country to continue filming despite the challenging separation from her son.
Dunst compared the scenario to the horror film “Final Destination,” in which a group of people miraculously escape death only to face a series of accidents later in the movie. She said she felt like “you’re imagining all the things that could go wrong, worst case scenarios happening to your child.”
“I have never seen that movie,” she told the outlet, “But I know the concept. That’s how it feels to be a mother at times.”
Dunst went on to boast about her supportive husband, adding she had zero doubt she had chosen the right partner, especially when faced with difficult circumstances. The two tied the knot in July of 2022.
“It brought us together as a family in such a deeper way,” she said of the incident.
The “Bring It On” star has remained out of the public eye with her family for some time, but has continued her well-established Hollywood career over the years.
