Kirk Cameron’s new biblically-based children’s show, “Iggy and Mr. Kirk,” is heading to Great American Media’s streaming platform Pure Flix next month.

The live-action/animated series will feature 10 episodes, which are scheduled to begin premiering on June 2, the Texas-based media brand announced on Tuesday.

Cameron, 54, portrays a retired pilot on the show, appearing alongside a puppet iguana named Iggy, voiced by “Sesame Street” puppeteer John Kennedy, and actress Leigh-Allyn Baker, known for her roles in “Will & Grace” and “Good Luck Charlie.”

“Designed for children and families, ‘Iggy and Mr. Kirk’ follows a curious iguana and his friend, Mr. Kirk, as they explore playful, yet profound life lessons grounded in Scripture,” a press release reads.

“Each episode delivers faith-based values like kindness, courage, and compassion through engaging stories, humor, and music.”

Cameron, who starred in ABC’s hit sitcom “Growing Pains,” collaborated with Brave Books on the new series.

Speaking to The Epoch Times in December 2024, the actor said “Iggy and Mr. Kirk” was a natural progression of the children’s books he has created with the Christian publishing company over the years.

Each episode showcases a value or lesson outlined in Brave Books’ “Freedom Island“ series, which Cameron recently contributed to with the release of ”Brave as a Lion“ last November. His other books in the saga include ”As You Grow“ (2022), ”Pride Comes Before the Fall“ (2023), and ”The Fox, the Fair, and the Invention Scare” (2023).
“Think of it as a wholesome ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood’ customized for this generation that has a faith and family values element to it,” Cameron said of his forthcoming show.

“We need Mr. Rogers now more than ever to help our kids value what is good and true and beautiful in the world,” the actor told The Epoch Times via email on Friday. “I’m so thankful that Pure Flix will be offering Iggy and Mr. Kirk to America’s families.”

In a statement, Great American Media’s president and CEO, Bill Abbott, said the company was proud to include “Iggy and Mr. Kirk” in its Pure Flix lineup of children’s shows, which include “VeggieTales,” “Sea Kids,” and “Bibleman.”

“This imaginative series sparks wonder and imagination while teaching children about faith, courage and compassion,” Abbott shared. “Kirk’s dedication to faith-filled storytelling is a perfect fit for our mission to provide families with content that inspires, encourages, and uplifts.”
