Jamie Lee Curtis has confirmed that a film adaptation of the beloved crime series “Murder, She Wrote” is officially in the works—and the Oscar-winning actress is primed to take on the role of mystery novelist and amateur sleuth Jessica Fletcher.

“Oh, it’s happening,” Curtis, 66, told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film, “Freakier Friday,” which hits theaters on Aug. 8.
