Former “Big Brother” contestant Mickey Lee, who starred on season 27 of the CBS reality television show, has died at 35 years old.

Lee’s family confirmed news of her passing in a social media post on Dec. 26, writing that the TV personality died early in the evening on Christmas Day.

“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on ‘Big Brother,’” read the statement posted to Lee’s official Instagram account. “Her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike.

“She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen,” the post read. “Mickey’s light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten.”

According to a GoFundMe created earlier this week on her behalf, Lee was hospitalized and placed in the intensive care unit after suffering a series of cardiac arrests.

“This sudden health crisis has left Mickey and her family facing enormous emotional and financial strain from mounting hospital bills to ongoing care and recovery costs,” reads the fundraiser.

She was listed as in critical but stable condition at the time, and was surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones. As of this afternoon, the family raised more than $35,000 in donations.

Tributes began pouring in online from Lee’s friends and former “Big Brother” co-stars, including longtime host Julie Chen Moonves, who revealed further details on her health challenges.
“Two months ago I interviewed Mickey Lee on God 101,” Chen Moonves captioned a photo of the two. “That’s when she revealed to me that she was born with a hole in her heart.”

“As an adult she survived an ATV accident that should have killed her, but God kept her alive,” she continued. “Last night God brought her home.”

“Rest In Peace dear Mickey,” she wrote. “I will see you again on the other side in eternity. I pray the good Lord comforts and heals your family and loved ones as we grieve your passing. Amen.”

Lee was an event curator and “creative force” originally from Jacksonville, Florida, but was living in Atlanta, Georgia, per the family’s GoFundMe page.

“The family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness has been felt and is sincerely appreciated,” Lee’s family added in their Instagram statement.

“As the family mourns this tremendous loss, they respectfully request privacy during this critical time of bereavement. Details regarding memorial services and arrangements will be shared at a later date.”
