Food Network chef and author Sandra Lee shared her recent ordeal with weight loss injections, emphasizing the detrimental side effects she experienced despite shedding 10 pounds.

Speaking to Fox News Digital at The Daily Front Row’s Eighth Annual Fashion Awards in Los Angeles on April 28, Ms. Lee disclosed her week-long confinement to bed following the trial.

“I lost 10 pounds, but I was sick as sick could be. And so, I don’t know, for every person, it’s what their body can handle and tolerate. It wasn’t for me,” she said.

She stressed the individual variability in tolerating such treatments, refraining from specifying the type of injection she tried.

The allure of weight loss injections has surged within Hollywood circles, with notable figures like Kelly Osbourne, Oprah Winfrey, Amy Schumer, and Boy George acknowledging their usage.

Ms. Winfrey touted weight loss drugs in a televised special on ABC titled “An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame, and the Weight Loss Revolution,” affirming, “In my entire life, I never dreamed that we would be talking about medicines that are providing hope for people like me who have struggled for years with being overweight or with obesity.”

However, concerns about severe repercussions accompany these transformations, echoed by Stephen Fry’s unsettling experience with Ozempic-induced vomiting up to five times daily.

Mr. Fry disclosed his side effects to the “River Cafe Table 4” podcast, stating: “Then I started feeling sick, and I started getting sicker and sicker and sicker. I was literally throwing up four, five times a day, and I thought, ‘I can’t do this.’ So that’s it.”

Despite her culinary expertise, Ms. Lee has grappled with weight management. On Christmas Day 2020, after a 30-pound weight gain, she embarked on a stringent cleanse to reclaim her preferred 140-pound weight. Inspired by her sister’s adherence to the NutriClean system, Ms. Lee observed significant weight loss within seven days, albeit recognizing the initial drop as predominantly water weight.

Ms. Lee’s dedication to health extended beyond dietary adjustments. She embraced a lifestyle devoid of alcohol, red meat, and excessive carbohydrates, favoring nutrient-rich options like vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins. Complemented by a regimen of vitamins and minerals, her pursuit of well-being underscores her commitment to holistic health. Amid personal challenges, including rumors of a clandestine marriage and recovery from a taxing hysterectomy, Ms. Lee finds solace in the unwavering support of her fiancé, Ben Youcef.

Meanwhile, new guidelines will be introduced to the social media app TikTok on May 17, focusing on weight loss content. These guidelines aim to limit the promotion of extreme diets and the misuse of weight loss medications. Creators who discuss these topics may see age restrictions placed on their content.

In response, some content creators are adapting their strategies, with a few considering moving to other platforms. However, TikTok is also taking steps to create a more positive experience around weight loss. Supportive messages will be displayed during searches related to weight loss.

This comes as President Joe Biden recently signed a law banning the Chinese-owned app unless its parent company, ByteDance, sells the platform within the next nine months.
