Country singer Kane Brown will make a guest appearance in the series premiere of “9-1-1: Nashville,” a spinoff of the hit drama “9-1-1,” which is set in Los Angeles.
Brown, 31, has previously graced the small screen, making a cameo in a 2023 episode of CBS’s firefighting drama series “Fire Country.”
The “Heaven” singer, who released his debut self-titled album in 2016, took to social media early Thursday morning to tease his new role.
“So I have a little TV shoot I’m doing this morning,” Brown said in an Instagram Story. “I can’t tell y’all what I’m doing, but it’s gonna be sick and I’m excited! Gotta be there at 6:45 a.m., that’s my call time.”
Actors Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, Hailey Kilgore, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, and Hunter McVey round out the cast of the new show, which is written and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani. O’Donnell also serves as an executive producer, along with directors Brad Buecker and Brad Falchuk and actress Angela Bassett.
The original “9-1-1” series premiered in 2018 on Fox. After being canceled by the network in 2023, the show—produced by the Disney-owned 20th Television—was subsequently picked up by ABC.
Bassett stars in the series, which aired its eighth season finale in May of this year, alongside actors Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Ryan Guzman.
The franchise’s second spinoff, “9-1-1: Lone Star,” debuted on Fox in 2020, but was canceled after five seasons.
The show centered on a New York fire captain, played by actor Rob Lowe, who relocated to Austin, Texas, with his son to help rebuild the local fire station.
Murphy told Variety in October 2024 that the show was terminated for financial reasons, detailing plans for the new spinoff.
“So now we’re going to launch a new show in a new city that I can’t name, but it’s fun. And ‘9-1-1’ moved to ABC and suddenly became, I think, the biggest show on Thursday night. They obviously have an appetite for that, so we’re going to give them another one that I really love.”
