George Wendt, the veteran actor best known for his iconic role as Norm Peterson on NBC’s long-running sitcom “Cheers,” died of cardiac arrest, according to official records.

A death certificate issued by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, and first reported by TMZ, lists congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and hypertension as underlying causes contributing to Wendt’s death.
