Welsh-born actress and model Annabel Schofield, best known for her role on the CBS primetime soap opera “Dallas,” has died at age 62 from brain cancer.

Schofield died on Feb. 28 in Los Angeles, following a lengthy battle with the disease, according to the “Dallas Fanzine” page dedicated to the television franchise.

After first going public with her cancer diagnosis in 2023, Schofield documented her journey through a GoFundMe page created to raise funds for treatment, up until her final health update on Jan. 18.

“The surgery I’ve been waiting for (removing the large mass in my nasal cavity through my nostrils) finally happened last weekend,” she wrote in the post.
“The mass had grown to 5 cms across and he [doctor] told me to go to the ER the following day at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance for emergency surgery. I was terrified!
“I’m incredibly grateful to Dr Pierce for pushing this through but I still need financial help as recovery will take a while,” she wrote.
“I also have to have another scan this week to see if all the cancer has been removed. I’m hopeful I have finally passed the last hurdle and can soon return to normal, fruitful life.”

In an update on Oct. 3, Schofield revealed that she had immediately begun chemotherapy treatments after the “original cancer” spread to her brain.

“The tumors are responding and shrinking thank god,” she wrote at the time. “Then MRIs have revealed a 3 cm mass behind my eyes which is not responding to chemo ... There are risks as so close to optical nerves, but I’m thrilled not to have my head sliced open.
“Thank you for all your kindness so far,” she told friends and donors. “Please continue to help if you can as I’m still unable to work and extremely fatigued, and worried constantly about paying the bills. I am eternally grateful.”

Born in 1963, in Llanelli, Wales, Schofield was introduced to the entertainment business at a young age by her father, British movie production executive John D. Schofield.

Schofield kicked off her modeling career in the 1980s, where she became a prominent face in the London fashion scene and one of the top models at “Take Two Agency.”

She appeared in hundreds of international fashion magazine covers, including European editions of “Vogue” and starred in design and beauty campaigns for major brands including Versace, Revlon, and Yves Saint Laurent.

Schofield relocated to Los Angeles, where she developed a passion for acting, and secured roles in both film and television. In 1988, she was cast as Laurel Ellis in a recurring role on “Dallas” starring opposite Larry Hagman’s character J.R. Ewing for 12 episodes.

Other credits include the sci-fi thriller “Solar Crisis” and “Eye of the Widow,” with her last documented acting stint in 2000 for the comedic drama “A Man Is Mostly Water.”

Schofield is survived by her mother and was predeceased by her sister Amanda.
