“Enlisted,” a new Fox show, has its series premiere on Friday night at 9:30 p.m. EDT.

The cast includes Geoff Stults as Staff Sergeant Pete Hill, Parker Young as Private Randy Hill, Angelique Cabral as Sergeant Jill Perez, Chris Lowell as Corporal Derrick Hill, and Keith David as Command Sergeant Major Donald Cody.

The new military comedy starts out with Hill being sent back home to Fort McGee, Florida after his temper gets him in trouble in a war zone.

His brothers are both enlisted in the Army and part of the Rear Detachment unit at the fort.

“He’s definitely struggling with it,” Stults told TVGuide.com. “He’s going to try to make the best of it, but he feels bad that he’s not overseas with his brothers, his other brothers, fighting. He feels like that’s the only way that he can give back to his country. He has to learn to find different ways to feel like he’s giving back.”

“I think what’s unique about this specifically is that it’s more of a workplace comedy. It’s not on the frontlines of the Korean War,” Lowell added. “It’s cleaning up after other soldiers who have already been deployed. It’s doing the grunt work.”
