The England World Cup team will be announced on May 12 and some players are going to be left off the team.

Roy Hodgson will announce the squad at 2 p.m. in Luton. The 23-player squad will be potentially supplemented by seven standby players.

England will already be without injured wingers Theo Walcott of Arsenal and Andros Townsend of Tottenham.

But Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the Gunners midfielder, should be available.

“The World Cup is in one month so there is plenty of time,” Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told BBC. “He can play now, so it shows you that there is no problem for him to be available for England.

Midfielder Jack Wilshere is also a possibility after returning from a fractured foot injury.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney and defender Phil Jones should be fit enough to play after struggling with injuries.
