Empress Schuck said that she’s still friends with Kim Chiu but that their relationship has changed.
The pair used to be part of the “barkada” dubbed “ChiuRiGoGoBaSchu,” along with actresses Melissa Ricks, Erich Gonzales, Beauty Gonzales and Kitkat Banas.
Chiu said in a recent interview that he onscreen partner Xian Lim is her only friend in the show business.
“Siguro masasabi ko lang na-outgrow namin ’yung mga sarili namin. Parang isang relationship, parang magkasama kayo sa umpisa pero habang tumatagal, nagiging ibang tao kayo. Hindi naman necessarily in a bad way, in a good way din naman,” she said in an interview with ABS-CBN, reported the Manila Bulletin.
The Empress says that she is still friends with Kim and is actually happy to see a more mature version of her, one who knows what she wants.
“Masaya ako para sa kanya. Katulad nga noon, bata pa kami. May mga decisions kami na kung anu-ano lang. Ngayon, pare-pareho na kaming may isip. Alam na namin kung ano talaga ang totoong mundo na nangyayari. I think nakikita na talaga ni Kim kung ano ang dapat niya talaga makita. Masaya ako na nandun siya sa part na ’yun.”
Chiu denied that the group broke up over her strained relationship with Maja Salvador.
The Empress emphasized that it’s normal for people to change and make new friends. “People change,” she said.
