An apparent “suspicious package” was found around a block away from Empire State Building in Manhattan on Thursday afternoon, say accounts on Twitter.

The New York City Police Department was called into to investigate, according to the accounts, including BuzzFeed News. “NYPD checking out a suspicious package by the Empire State Building,” its Twitter feed  said at around 6 p.m. There hasn’t been any updates since.

Instagram user “Arbenl” posted an image on Instagram, saying that the NYPD is “going ‘Hurt Locker’” on the package.

“Haven’t seen this many police officers by the Empire State building since the previous shooting here,” said Twitter user Rebekah Leah.

Another user asked: “Anyone know why the bomb squad is at 35th and 5th?” His question was accompanied by a photo of officers behind yellow police tape. The Empire State Building is located at 34th Street.

Other Twitter accounts described a “bomb scare” in the area.
