Actress Ellen Adarna said that if Vhong Navarro really did try to rape Deniece Cornejo, then Cornejo should have loudly protested what was happening.

“As a woman ... if you feel violated, you say it out loud. You say it to the person that, ‘You can’t do this to me.’” she told ABS-CBN. “Why now? Why now in public? You have all the rights. Women have their right to show what we can do.”

Cornejo claims that Vhong Navarro tried to rape her last week, and that businessman Cedric Lee and a group of men saved her. However, CCTV footage has backed up Navarro’s story that he was set up and blackmailed.

Adarna said that she’s not sure who to believe.

“I’m torn in the middle, but, like, it’s just wrong... I’m not choosing a side, because I don’t really know the whole story. I’m like 50-50.”

She did say that she sent a text message to Navarro, who is recovering from the beating in a hospital, telling him that she hopes he is okay.

A movie that she was set to star in with Navarro was supposed to start filming this week but has been postponed because of what happened.

Adarna concluded, saying that she hopes there is “Justice to the one who deserves it.”
