Eliza Dushku is one of the front-runners to star in the third movie in the Ghostbusters series, according to MTV.
Screenwriter and actor Dan Aykroyd said that there is a strong possibility that the Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress would be brought on board the project, MTV said, citing an interview Aykroyd had with Chicago radio station WGN.
Also being considered for roles are Saturday Night Live’s Bill Hader and comedienne Anna Faris, Aykroyd added.
Already confirmed for Ghostbusters 3 are original cast members Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Harold Ramis.
The comedy franchise about a team of ghost-catching scientists has garnered a dedicated fan base ever since the first film was released in 1984.
Ghostbusters 3, directed by Ivan Reitman (I Love You, Man; Up in the Air) will hit theatres in 2012.
