Elijah Allen, 11, of Moreno Valley, California died this week after collapsing during a touch football game at Vista Heights Middle School.
Allen was playing the game shortly after noon when he collapsed.
School staff members performed CPR until he was transported to a hospital, but he died at the hospital, reported KTLA.
The cause of the death hasn’t yet been determined.
The boy had an unspecified medical condition that may have contributed to his death, Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. John Del Valle told CBS.
