Efrem Holmes, the bodyguard for Patti LaBelle, was found not guilty to assaulting a West Point cadet.
A jury handed down their decision on Monday, reported ABC.
The assault incident was videotaped at Bush Intercontinental Airport two years ago.
Bush was accused of hitting Richard King at the airport.
Margaret Curry, a juror, told the station: “I think a lot of the state’s evidence was untrue. A lot of the witnesses seemed to be unbelievable.”
Zuri Edwards, the son of LaBelle testified for Holmes several days ago, saying that King was “intoxicated, loud, obnoxious,” reported AP. The man was also shouting racial insults at his mother.
“I am instantly struck on my face, on the right side of my face,” he added.
King had testified that he does not remember the incident. He reportedly had a blood-alcohol level of .28 percent, more than three times the Texas legal threshold.
