WEST CHESTER, Pa.—Educating the public on what is undermining society is key to reclaiming America, said a speaker at a local Republican event.

A “triad of evil” is creating chaos in U.S. society, Vietnam vet John Radell told attendees at a “We the People Speaker Series” event organized by Chester County GOP of Pennsylvania on Oct. 22.

In an hour-long speech, 76-year-old Radell said that the triad consists of Maoism, globalism, and radical Islam.

Maoism is at the top of the triad—it aims to control faith, create fear, and disrupt the family, he said.

Radell said evil has infiltrated all aspects of society, including the culture, media, government, education, entertainment, medicine, music, and churches.

The way back to normal is to get rid of the triad and reclaim America through faith, he said. Education is an important part of that, he said.

“In order to reclaim America, you have to know and educate people about what is happening and how to stand up against it,” he said.

Nowadays, many people are dismayed at what’s happening in society, with many almost being paralyzed in how to respond, Radell said.

Radell, the president of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, worked in the Vietnam Veteran Leadership Program under President Ronald Reagan who led the nation from 1981 to 1989.

His speeches—of which he does up to 10 per month—are aimed at helping people become active through their faith in opposing what’s occurring.

Radell told his audience at the West Chester event that everything that is happening in society is designed to make them feel like it’s hopeless.

“We lost confidence in our government, and our FBI and the CIA, and the military and the medical industry. All this was planned to undermine your trust in your faith so [that] you would lose hope,” he said. “Without hope, there’s nothing.”

He gave the example of the Soviet Union and how it was so powerful with a strong military that people thought it would never collapse as it did in 1991.

“It was the faith of people and the hope of the people who stood up against the tyranny and confronted it that ended up dismantling Russia,” he said.

Radell said he came to understand how evil communism is through his Vietnam War experiences.

“When I was in Vietnam, I could see the cruelty that the communists did against the villagers,” said Radell who served in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive, 1968. “They purposely captured civilians and tried to torture them and kill them to draw the American forces out into the open, so they could kill the American forces.”

He also described the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as “the single most destructive form of government on the face of the earth.”

“If you’re not willing to stand up against communism, then you’re not worth willing to stand up to anything.”

Communist Tactics

Event host, Kathy Dobson, a committeewoman with Birmingham Township of Chester County, said Radell explained successfully how communism is behind the chaos seen in American society.

“It’s Marxism. Marxism isn’t coming, Marxism is here. I was really pleased with his presentation,” she told The Epoch Times.

Dobson said she believes that a lot of people have little idea about how severe things are globally and locally.

“I know the Black Lives Matter is a Marxist organization. I know that defunding the police is a Marxist policy. I know that critical race theory is an idea to divide people,” she said.

“And I know that during the Maoist Cultural Revolution, he [Mao Zedong] divided the Chinese people, the bourgeois from the peasants or the working people, and here in America, they’re trying to divide us in every way,” Dobson said.

“They’re trying to destroy our morality, our faith, and our patriotism,” she said.

“But our legacy media does not tell people what’s going on. So we have to have events like this to inform the people so that when the elections come, they can vote for those candidates that will push back against these Marxist policies.”

Gaining Courage

Erin Kershaw, a geriatric care manager, said she and her husband have attended “We the People Speaker Series” events since before the last election.

“It’s really good to be able to hear updates, and facts instead of the spin that we so often see in the media,” she told The Epoch Times.

Kershaw said she thought that Radell’s speech was “excellent” and she appreciated good people like him being active at a grassroots level.

Kershaw said what has been happening in society has been a long process of things falling apart.

“But even though it’s frustrating, I think it’s emboldening to be with people who are like-minded, and to kind of gain that courage from the group,” she said.

Kershaw said she understands that the CCP has deeply infiltrated America.

“I think the Communist Party has been trying to invade America for a long time. And it has been very successful in doing that without Americans realizing that this was happening,” she said.

“I think we have to be mindful of that. And be aware and know who we are and what we believe in, what this country was initiated with, and what we stand for.”
