Ed Reed, the Super Bowl-winning safety who was released by the Houston Texans this week, will likely go to the New York Jets.

ESPN reported that the Jets are on the verge of adding Reed to the team’s secondary.

The Jets announced that Reed will practice with the team on Thursday.

Reed is a nine-time Pro Bowler and according to Jets coach Rex Ryan, is “the best safety that’s ever played.”
