Eastern Long Lions and Kitchee, 5 Points Ahead of South China After 7 Matches

HONG KONG—The BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League game on Tuesday (Nov 15) night, between Hong Kong Pegasus and Wo Foo Tai Po at Hong Kong Stadium, ended in a 1-all draw.

Friday (Nov 18) saw HKFC take on Eastern Long Lions at HKFC’s Sports Road home. After both sides traded chances, Eastern Long Lions took an 11th minute lead when Lee Hong-lim broke down the left wing, beat a defender before advancing to the edge of the box, and struck home with a driven shot. Lee Hong-lim then doubled the lead with his brace in the 22nd minute when he shot into the top corner from the edge of the box. With HKFC’s Martin Rainer denied a goal with a fine save late in the half, Eastern Long Lions took a 2-nil lead into the half time break.

Eastern Long Lions added a 3rd in the 70th minute when Jaimes Mckee beat the HKFC goalkeeper before slotting home, and Manuel Rodriguez rounded out the scoring for a final 4-nil result with a piece of individual skill in the 81st minute.

KMB Yuen Long played BC Glory Sky at Yuen Long Stadium on Saturday ( Nov 19), ending with a 4–nil victory with two first half headers by Stefan Pereira from Lee Hong-lim’s crosses,  Pereira completed his hat-trick in the 71st minute by heading in from a free kick, and Diego Higino scored from Yiu Ho-ming’s pass in the 89th minute.  

Lee Man Rangers took on Wo Foo Tai Po at Tsing Yi Sports ground later on Saturday, Wo Foo Tai Po prevailing courtesy of Fung Wing-wa’s 90th minute header from Chan Cham-hei’s corner kick.

On Sunday (Nov 20) Kitchee won 2-nil in their game wit R&F at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground, with a 32nd minute strike from Lam Zhi-gin, and a 72nd minute second from Rufino Segovia sealing the victory.

In the later game at Mongkok Stadium, Kwoon Chung Southern took the lead, before a brace from Nikola Komazec saw South China claim the  points. Kwoon Chung Southern took the lead in the 31st minute when, after Roberto Fronza headed on Leung Tsz-chun’s free kick from the left wing, the ensueing melee ended with Diego Garrido forcing the ball into the net. South China equalised in the 42nd minute, when Nikola Komazec fired into the top corner after receiving the ball from Leung Kwun-chung after his run down the left wing, and then the same player collecting his and his side’s second with a driven free kick from the right wing.   

Eastern Long Lions lead the table with 19 points, with Kitchee 2nd with 19 points, and South China 3rd with 14 points all from 7 games.

In First Division games, Shatin drew with Double Flower, Wanchai were 6-nil winners against Yau Tsm Mong, Sun Hei won 6-nil against Kwai Tsing, Citizen drew 2-all with Resource Capital FC, Kwun Tonng were 2-1 winners against  Tung  Sing, and Easyknit Property won 4-3 against Metro Gallery.

Sun Hei and Wong Tai Sin head the table with 25 points from 9 and 10 matches respectively, with Easyknit Property 3rd on 20 points from 9 games.

Yau Yee League

In the 9th round of first division matches, Albion were 8-1 victors over Squadron, Wanderers were 1-nil winners against Colts in the top of the table derby at Sports Road, GaS were won 7-2 against Colloids FC, and KCC Dragons were 2-1 winners against Swiss Xi.

Wanderers lead the table with 22 points from 8 matches, with Colts, Albion and KCC Dragons joint 2nd with 16 points from 9 games, and GAS are 5th with 15 points from 8 games.

In the second division, CSOB were 2-1 winners against Grasshoppers, Azzurri were 3-1 victors over ANP, GGFC drew 2-all with IES, HKU70’s drew 4-all with White Youth FC, and Dynamo won 1-nil against WYFC06.

Azzurri are league leaders with 25 points from 9 matches, with Dynamo second with 17 points from the same games, and HKU70’s and Carnegies Boca Seniors joint third with 16 point from the same games.
