An earthquake hit today in New Zealand near Seddon and was felt in Wellington.

The quake hit at 1:45 p.m. local time, and was at a depth of 22 kilometers, according to the country’s GeoNet agency.

The quake registered at 4.7 magnitude.

It hit 5 kilometers southwest of Seddon and was felt in Wellington.
