Drugs and Cash Seized in Sydney Raids—inquiries Are Continuing

SYDNEY, New South Wales—Raids across Sydney’s south have resulted in the arrest of two men, approximately a kilogram of cocaine, and more than $770,000 in cash after homes were raided on the morning of 17 May.

Properties raided were located in Mascot, Rosebery, Rockdale, Pagewood, and Kingsford.

In Rosebery, a 22-year-old man was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

The man was charged with supplying prohibited drugs greater than an indictable quantity and directing activities of a criminal group, NSW police said in a statement. The man is due to appear in court on 14 June.

In Mascot, a 26-year-old man was arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station. The 26-year-old man was charged with supplying a drug for commercial purposes, and the same charges facing the 22-year-old. The man is due for court on 12 July.

Raids in Rockdale, Pagewood, and Kingsford proceeded immediately after the above seizures. Items seized included MDMA tablets, steroids, cannabis, cash, mobile phones, documents, more than a kilogram of cocaine, more than $760,000 cash, and other drug paraphernalia.

NSW police say that inquiries are continuing.
