Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol found more than 120 pounds of marijuana hidden in a trailer after drivers spotted packages falling from the trailer on Interstate 80 on Friday, Jan. 19.

A member of the public notified the state patrol after noticing a package had fallen from a flatbed trailer being pulled by an eastbound Dodge Ram near Odessa, at mile marker 262 on I-80, according to a statement on Jan. 20.

A trooper located the vehicle and recovered the package. Upon examining the package, the trooper determined that it was filled with marijuana.

After a detailed search, troopers found a hidden compartment on the undercarriage of the trailer where a dozen more packages were found.

In total, the trooper seized 122 pounds of high-grade marijuana—with an estimated street value of $366,000.

Charlie Red, 48, of Colorado, and passenger Damaisy Rodriguez, 29, of Florida, were arrested on suspicion of Possession of Marijuana – more than one pound, Possession With Intent to Deliver, and No Drug Tax Stamp.

They are currently being held in Buffalo County Jail.
