Draw for 16th HKFC Citibank Soccer Sevens

HONG KONG—The draw for the 16th HKFC Citibank Soccer sevens to be held at the Hong Kong Football Club on the weekend of 29-31 May 2015 took place at the Hong Kong Football Club at midday on Tuesday 14th April 2015.

The draw for the main competition comprised seeded teams Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid, Kitchee, Leicester City, Newcastle United, Stoke City, Wellington Phoenix and West Ham United, paired with Shanghai SIPG, 2 teams from HKFC, South China, BC Rangers, HKFA
U-20’s, Singapore Cricket Club and the Yau Yee League Select. It is the first visit to the tournament for Spain’s Athletico Madrid, the English Premier League’s Stoke City, and the Australian A-League’s New Zealand team, the Wellington Phoenix. The other four teams from the English Premier league have played in the tournament previously, with three having lifted the winner’s trophy.

The result of the draw ended with the following groupings:-

In the masters competition, comprising players over the age of 35, the re-formatted draw comprises 2 leagues of 5 teams playing round robin matches, with the four seeded teams of Citibank All Stars, Nottingham Forest Mobsters, USRC, and Wallsend Boys Club, paired with Kitchee All Stars, 2 teams from HKFC, Singapore Cricket Club, and Discovery Bay.

The result of the draw for the masters competition ended with the following groupings;-
