Dr. Jacinto Convit, a famed Venezuelan researcher, has died at the age of 100, it was reported.

Ultimas Noticias reported that he will “always be remembered for his tireless scientific work and contributions that have preserved the health of the peoples around the world.”

Convit was noted for developing two types of vaccinations for leprosy and leishmaniasis .

He earned the Nobel Prize in medicine for his work.
