Two boys got stranded while attempting to walk on the frozen Bronx River on Thursday evening, according to reports.

WABC-7 reported that at 10-year-old boy was seen standing still as firefighters attempted to reach him.

There was a second child with him who was able to get off the ice.

“One first responder jumped into the water near the shore, while fellow rescuers lowered a ladder down the side of a bluff. The firefighter in the water was able to pass the ladder to the boy, who climbed over the broken ice to safety,” said WABC-7.

The second boy was about 10 to 15 feet from land.

The boys were taken to Jacobi Hospital with minor injuries.

According to PIX-11, the boy who was trapped was near Westchester Ave in the Soundview neighborhood.
