Don King, the boxing promoter known for being outlandish, was found to have ammunition in his carry-on luggage when he was leaving the Cleveland airport, authorities told CNN on Monday.
On Sunday night, King was attempting to depart Hopkins International Airport when he was stopped at a checkpoint and security found .357-caliber and .38-caliber bullets, according to the Associated Press.
"He was stopped at a security checkpoint and ammunition was found in his carry-on luggage," airport spokesperson Jackie Mayo told CNN.
The ammo was taken from King and he was allowed to continue on to his flight.
The 79-year-old promoter was in Ohio to attend his wife’s funeral.
King, who is well-known for his trademark spiky hair, served as the promoter for boxing legends like George Foreman, Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and Joe Frazier.
