EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ- It was announced on Monday that CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie signed a 5 year deal with the Giants after passing his physical. The deal includes $35M and $14M guaranteed.
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie joins a defense that is filled with SuperBowl players that played last month. Giants added LB Quinton Demps and CB Walter Thurmond from Seattle over the weekend.
The main thing the team (Giants) is trying to do is bring in guys that are going to come in and lead by example,” Rodgers-Cromartie said in a press release. “That’s always a plus.”
Rodgers-Cromartie also reunites with his former Arizona teammate, safety Antrel Rolle. DRC just mentioned that playing with him again is a blessing.
“I was with him for two years in Arizona,” Rodgers-Cromartie. “He brought me in, took me under his wing and took care of me. So to be reunited with him is just a blessing. I know the things that he’s done in his career and the man he’s become. That’s going to be a big help for me.”
After his past attempts in winning a Superbowl with Arizona (XLIII) and Denver (XLVIII), Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie says that the Giants are moving in a good direction as far as championships. Not to mention, he gave a compliment to Giants QB Eli Manning.
“I definitely believe this is a championship team,” Rodgers-Cromartie said. “Starting with Eli, a great quarterback, a guy that you know can get it done. He’s done it, proven it before. They’re bringing in a lot of pieces, so I definitely think it’s going in the right direction.”
