Miami Dolphins All-Pro left tackle Jason Long will miss the rest of the season with a torn triceps, according to a report on the NFL’s website.
Long suffered the injury in Sunday’s loss to New England. This marks the second consecutive season Long, who was chosen first overall in the 2008 NFL Draft, will finish on injured reserve. Last season Long suffered a torn biceps.
The four-time Pro Bowl selection has not had his usual great season though. According to the report, ProFootballFocus.com had Long ranked 47th out of 75 tackles this season. Last year he was rated 21st best and the year before he was second.
Long’s contract expires at the end of the season and it remains to be seen what the Dolphins will do with the 27-year-old talent.
