Dog Thrown Into a Tar Pit and Left for Dead Is Rescued
A dog was thrown into a tar pit in Chile while still alive.
It was rescued by Jhonny Alquinta and his son after they noticed movement inside an asphalt pit.
They were driving around the city of Antofagasta in Chile when they made the discovery, according to MailOnline.
Upon closer examination, they noticed the abandoned dog was trying to lift its head out of the tar. They pulled the animal out before it could sink any further.
The animal was taken to Clínica Veterinaria Puppies Vet, where it was cleaned up.
“It was a huge effort but they finally got her out of the pit,” the boy’s aunt, Rosmary Carrizo, said.
The family is said to have taken the dog in, naming it Quitran, which is the Spanish word for tarmac.
The vet’s office showed the cleaning process on its Facebook page.
