Doctor Who Season 8: New Doctor Will be ‘Rude’ and ‘Different’ in Series 8 (+Premiere Date)

The new Doctor Who will be very rude sometimes in the upcoming series 8.

Peter Capaldi is the latest incarnation of the doctor.

“He has a tremendous ability with throwaway humor, and a lot of it is around the fact that sometimes he is terribly rude,” Steven Moffat told SFX magazine.

“I think kids will think he is the rude Doctor. You might want to cuddle him, but he really will resist.”

However, Moffat clarified that “Peter will be very much the Doctor.”

Moffat recently elaborated to Empire, saying that the Doctor will be “more alien than he’s been for a while.”

“He doesn’t quite understand human beings or really care very much about their approval,” Moffat said.

Jenna Coleman, who plays his assistant, agrees.

“With Matt’s Doctor [Clara] felt quite safe, really,” said Coleman. “She knew she’d be caught if she was in danger, but this guy is a lot less human-friendly and a lot less patient. He’s more removed and inaccessible. You can’t quite access him in the same way.”

Season 8 will premiere on BBC on August 23 in the United Kingdom and the same day on BBC America in the United States.

ABC1 in Australia and FOX Germany will also air series 8, among other broadcasters.
