An accident at the Pirates of the Carribean attraction at Disneyland Paris has left a five-year-old boy in critical condition on Wednesday.

The boy was “fighting for his life” at the Necker children’s hospital in Paris, reported the Daily Telegraph

The accident happened when the child fell out of a boat during a ride through a fortress, dungeon, and “Blue Lagoon.” Riders don’t wear seatbelts on the slow ride.

The boy leaned back, fell out of the boat, and was hit by a boat that was behind the boat he and his father were riding in.

“He was stuck between the platform, with his chest compressed, and the boat,” said commander Fabrice Delin of the Codis emergency services for the Seine-et-Marne department.
