The Disneyland theme park in Southern California followed Disney World in adding a new warning to their website during the holiday season due to a string of fights at the amusement parks last summer.
“To help Guests have a safe and enjoyable experience, we regularly update our Disneyland Resort rules,” the advisory reads.
The rules outlined in the advisory ask guests to remain courteous to other park goers and cast members “by not using profanity or engaging in unsafe, illegal, disruptive or offensive behavior.”
Under the Disney World Orlando courtesy advisory, the wording is similar to its California counterpart but added: “Be the magic you want to see in the world.”
“Those who can’t live up to this simple wish may be asked to leave Walt Disney World Resort,” the advisory reads.
The Anaheim Police Department responded to 21 calls at the theme park in June and 26 in July, according to an August report in the Orange County Register.
Some of those call logs show assault and battery, possession of narcotics, vandalism, brandishing a firearm, and disturbing the peace. Many of these incidents at the Disney theme parks have gone viral on social media, including multiple fistfights over the summer.
Despite these concerns, Disneyland continues to have a number of safety measures in place, including park security officers who patrol the theme park along with uniformed Anaheim Police officers.
“We have a comprehensive approach to security that includes measures that are visible and others that are not. We do not broadly discuss the specifics of our security procedures to avoid compromising their effectiveness,” the Disneyland Resort Website reads.
