Walt Disney Studios released the newest trailer for the live-action version of the 1941 film “Dumbo” on Nov. 14, and it looks to be breaking hearts across the internet.
The trailer reveals much more than the teaser released in June, and it features the full cast, including Eva Green, Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, and Danny DeVito.
It also gives a much closer look at the little elephant with the floppy ears and his joys and frustrations, such as the devastating moment when he loses his mother.
The preview opens on the scene of a traveling circus and introduces two children, who appear to have a significant role in Dumbo’s life.
“Welcome, Baby Dumbo,” says the girl. “We’re all family here. No matter how small.”
As the boy plays with the tiny elephant, the animal accidentally inhales a feather into his trunk. The resulting huge sneeze, which leaves the little elephant practically levitating off the ground, gives the children a glimpse of the magic of Dumbo’s gigantic ears.

The elephant’s talent soon appears to inspire greed among the circus directors, creating conflict between them and the children’s family.
“Come with me,” says Keaton’s sinister-looking character to DeVito at one point. “Together we can soar on that elephant’s wings.”
Meanwhile, the children vow to reunite the little elephant and his mother. The trailer ends inside a magnificent circus tent, with Dumbo raised on a platform high above the crowd.
“You can do it, Dumbo. Show them,” says the girl. “Fly, Dumbo. Fly!”
The new trailer was the number one trending video on YouTube on Nov. 15, and many fans left comments about their reactions.
“This trailer made shed tears and trailers don’t make me like this except for this one😢😢😢😢,” wrote Rubisenia Zamoracruz.
YouTube user Given Warner said, “This one tugs at the heart strings… way to put me in my feels before i even see the movie [sic].”

The film is directed by Tim Burton who also directed remakes of “Alice in Wonderland” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
The original “Dumbo” was Walt Disney’s own favorite film, according to Mental Floss. The 1941 movie was the shortest of Disney’s feature-length films and was made on a tight budget, due to the war efforts.
One of the audience’s favorite characters was Timothy Q. Mouse, who was a close friend of Dumbo and helped him learn to fly. It’s unclear if a similar character has been included in the live-action film.
The remake is one of several planned by Disney, following successful movies such as “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Jungle Book.” Other upcoming live-action films include “Aladdin,” “Mulan,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Lilo & Stitch,” according to Variety.
“Dumbo” hits the theaters on March 29, 2019.
