DALLAS—Shen Yun Performing Arts took the audience’s breath away at the Winspear Opera House Saturday evening in Dallas, the first stop of its 2012 world tour.

Yolanda Quinones, CFO of a manufacturing company, thought the performance was “phenomenal.”

“The dancing, the music [were] mesmerizing, beautiful. Gorgeous,” she said.

The New York-based company brings 5,000 years of Chinese civilization to life with its colorful performances on stage, whether it be traditional art forms like Classical Chinese dance, the two-stringed erhu, or storytelling through song or dance.

“I think it was very well narrated … there is so much history in China,” Ms. Quinones said.

“Loved it... I know that all the stories that the songs portray could easily symbolize something I could relate to, each and every song, in one way or another.”

Ms. Quinones said she appreciated Shen Yun bringing to the stage ancient Chinese culture for American audiences to enjoy.

“I love to learn more about all different cultures. So that’s great. It’s really breathtaking.”
