Diane Sawyer, ABC World News anchor, turns 65 years old on Dec. 22.

The beautiful and seemingly ageless Sawyer is “one of the most respected journalists in the world,” reads a biography of her on ABC News.

“She has traveled the globe delivering in-depth and breaking news reports and has conducted interviews with almost every major newsmaker of our time.”

Sawyer is ABC’s principal anchor for breaking news, election coverage, and special events, according to the network.

Before stepping into her current position at ABC News in January 2010, Sawyer co-anchored Good Morning America, an ABC News morning news program.

“[Sawyer] has traveled the globe delivering in-depth and breaking-news reports and has conducted interviews with almost every major newsmaker of our time,” reads her biography.

Sawyer has covered both prominent and under-reported topics, including the 2008 presidential election, health care reform, poverty in the United States and North Korea, and pharmacy prescription errors.

Sawyer is a native of Glasgow, Ky.,—raised in Louisville. She received a B.A. from Wellesley College and finished a semester of law school before joining the broadcast industry.
