The Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls patch 2.1 has come out, adding a few new features to the expansion. Blizzard also announced double Gold Find until Sept. 2, which is Tuesday.

Blizzard posted up a video detailing the features.

But of note, there’s now new legendary gems and greater rifts throughout the game.

According to Blizzard, “Formerly referred to as Tiered Rifts, Greater Rifts are a special type of timed Nephalem Rift. There are an infinite number of Greater Rift levels, and each Greater Rift level will be progressively more difficult than the last.”

And legendary gems “can only be dropped by Greater Rift Guardians and Greed, Baroness of the Vault,” the company said.

The gems offer the benefits of their counterparts but they can be upgraded an endless amount of times.

And regarding the Ultimate Evil edition’s patch, it’s unclear when it will be out, according to Joystiq. “There’s currently no word on when or if this new content will be added to the recently-released Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition, but Blizzard has committed to supporting both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game with post-launch content additions,” the website writes.

There’s also been a bevy of upgrades to classes, areas, skills, and bug fixes.

Regarding the Gold Find event, Blizzard wrote: “To celebrate the arrival of this major content update, all players who log into Diablo III this week on Windows or Mac will not only receive a +100% bonus to Gold Find, but all Treasure Goblin spawns in the game have been doubled! (As with our previous buff, please note that the Gold Find bonus will stack multiplicatively with existing bonuses including those provided by items and Paragon points.)”

It added: “This bonus Gold Find and double Treasure Goblin period begins in the Americas region today, August 26, and ends on Tuesday, September 2, at 11:59 p.m. PDT.”
