PHILADELPHIA—Brenda Oeschlager found the dancing in Shen Yun Performing Arts amazing, and “loved the costumes.”

Ms. Oeschlager attended the performance at the Merriam Theater in Philadelphia on May 5.

“I just think it is amazing show and I am very happy that is it in Philadelphia,” said Ms. Oeschlager.

New York-based Shen Yun has a mission to revive 5,000 years of China’s divinely inspired culture.

“China was once known as Shen Zhou, the Divine Land. This profound name describes a land where deities and mortals coexisted, and a belief that the divine transmitted a rich culture to the people of the earth,” the company website states.

Shen Yun ‘Magic’: Regional Vice President

Bob Donnelly, regional vice-president for Lincoln Financial, also attended the performance on May 5.

“My best memory is how the ladies would look like they are gliding across the floor with their little steps that they make with the long dresses—I thought that was magic,” said Mr. Donnelly.

Mr. Donnelly was also moved by the message of the performance.

“Uplifting because it’s got positive energy—it’s good over evil. That’s a powerful message,” Mr. Donnelly said.
