Bright, vibrant, and colorful –Caribbean colors are making their way into a number of different homes, adding a touch of fun and sunshine into modern, urban living.

The vibrant shades of the Caribbean aren’t for everyone and many home’s styles simply aren’t able to pull off an entire room decked out in Caribbean flare. But those who are looking to be a bit adventurous, or hoping to use this trend to inspire a few accent details, will certainly benefit from an infusion of Caribbean warmth.

Here’s how you can get the look, without going overboard.

Paint an Accent Wall

An accent wall in a bright, Caribbean blue can be a great way to add a touch of the tropics to your home. Another idea is to create a tiled backsplash in bright, bold Caribbean colors. A perfect feature for an otherwise subdued kitchen.

Smaller Details: Accessorize With Color

Sometimes beauty is found in the small details. This is certainly the case for a vibrant, bold décor style like Caribbean decor. Often, a few simple accent details, or features that pay homage to this design style is enough to add a colorful infusion to a room.

Go Bold

For the adventurous, painting chairs or barstools in bright, mismatched shades of color, or updating shutters or wooden doors with a vibrant splash of color are other ways to incorporate some Caribbean color into your home. A colorful rug or some throw pillows are other ways to add in bright, bold colors.

Add Some Tropical Plants

Green is a quintessential Caribbean color, and adding in some palms, ferns, or Bird of Paradise is a great way to incorporate a beautiful infusion of the tropics into your home.
