Does your home office zap your energy as soon as you step through the door?

A home office should be a place that you enjoy working in, not a drab place that’s devoid of life or color.

While the office is usually one of the most neglected rooms in the house, incorporating some color into your office can help to add life, and energy back into your workspace, and help to make it a place that you enjoy working in. Incorporating color into your office isn’t hard –and can be a lot of fun. When you step into your new office that’s vibrant, and full of life, all of your work will pay off.

Ensuring that you get a healthy dose of color infusion, without going overboard on too many colors requires a delicate balance. It’s a good idea to choose one –or two, main colors, and then fill in with complimentary colors, or neutrals such as black, white, or silver.

Here are some ways that you can use color to inject some life and personality into your office…

Wall Art

Adding wall art is a great way to add color into your office. When choosing wall art, try to have an idea of what kind of design style, or overall feel you are trying to convey. If you’re uncertain, abstract or modern minimalist art styles go well with most modern offices, and will complement the rest of your office décor.

Accent Wall

Vibrant colors are great, but painting all of the walls in one, bright color can create a ‘box’ effect leaving you feeling trapped in. An accent wall a great way to inject some color into your office -just make sure you choose a color that you will enjoy looking at! Slate blue, grey, black, red or vibrant orange like Cathy’s Optimistic, are all great choices for office accent walls.
