Derek Medina, a Miami-area man who allegedly killed his wife and posted a photo of her dead body on Facebook, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday.

NBC Miami reported that he entered the plea in the morning. His attorneys have said that he was acting in self defense.

Medina is accused of killing his wife, Jennifer Alonso, in August.

According to reports this week, Medina could face the death penalty if he is convicted.

He was charged with first-degree murder.
