Denver has been mostly spared by flash flooding so far but is under a flash flood warning through 12 p.m. MDT.

Four to six inches of rain has already fallen across parts of northwestern Arapahoe and southwestern Adams and central Denver counties, according to the National Weather Service.

Also, the service has been extending warnings for different areas so this one could be extended, too.

Some locations that will experience flooding include northern Denver and western Aurora, according to the service.

“Move to higher ground now,” it said. “Act quickly to protect your life.”

Excessive runoff will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, highways, and streets and underpasses.
