Denise Adams, Charles Smith, and Carrie Barlow have been identified as victims in a helicopter crash in Somerville, Tennessee on Tuesday.

The medical helicopter from the Hospital Wing Memphis crashes in a wooded area in Somerville, reported the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Barlow, a nurse; Adams, a respiratory therapist; and Smith, the pilot, were on their way to pick up a young boy in renal failure.

Officials who went to the crash site said that the helicopter virtually disintegrated on impact.

Pediatric emergency physician Dr. Jay Pershad called the people who died a “dedicated group of professionals.”

“We would tell the families how very proud we are of their loved ones,” Conway said. “You can’t do this job without loving what you do. You can’t do this job without loving emergency medicine.”
