Deniece Millet Cornejo remains “in high spirits” amid the legal battle with Vhong Navarro over what actually happened one night several weeks ago.
Cornejo alleges that Navarro tried to rape her and is backed by businessman Cedric Lee, but Navarro says that the pair and five others conspired to tie him up, beat him, and blackmail him.
CCTV footage from the apartment building appears to back up his story.
Howard Calleja, the legal counsel for Cornejo and Lee, told ABS-CBN that his clients are confident “because they know they have the truth behind them.”
“Eventually, they will be vindicated in the proper forum, not in the people’s court, not in this trial by publicity, but in our trial courts,” he said.
He added that Cornejo is doing well emotionally amid receiving death threats from people on social media, some from those who claim to be fans of Navarro.
