Deniece Millet Cornejo’s parents have been a subject of debate during the Vhong Navarro case, as some say that the parents should come forward and help defend their daughter.

Cornejo, a 22-year-old student and model, accused Navarro of trying to rape her--however, CCTV footage and sworn statements by witnesses appear to support Navarro’s story that he was set up by Cornejo and businessman Cedric Lee.

Cornejo said on her old Facebook profile that she was the grand niece of GMA Network executive Felipe Gozon, who has since denied that they are related.

Now, according to journalist Tony Calvento, Cornejo is the daughter of the former husband of Mel Tiangco, a reporter at GMA.

“She is also the niece of Sandiganbayan Justice Cristina Cornejo,” Calvento said via Facebook. “Jun is not abroad as alleged but is in the Philippines.”
